Lisa and Kent

Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to introduce ourselves and share with you a bit about our lives.  My name is Lisa, my husband’s name is Kent and we are from Los Angeles, CA.  We have known each other since high school and started dating soon after college.  We were married six years ago in Hawaii and are so excited about becoming a family through adoption. We can't wait to share our hearts with a child and provide them with a wonderful, happy, and loving home.  We’ve chosen open adoption to ensure that everyone involved agrees on the best future of the child.

We live in a beautiful beach community and spend much of our time outdoors.  Our comfortable home is in a family-friendly neighborhood and just a short walk from excellent schools, a huge park, farmers market and lots of kid friendly activities.  Both our families live close by and we love spending time together.  They are so excited about the arrival of a baby into our lives (especially our 5 year old niece who can’t wait to have a cousin)!  We have been blessed with a very supportive family structure and know that they will be highly involved once an adopted baby joins our family.

We love being outdoors and spend summer days at the beach or walking along the boardwalk with our dogs.  We have two Labradors, a yellow and a black that are the most loving, child-friendly pets you could imagine.  During the winter months we enjoy time snowboarding and hiking in the mountains.  Kent also enjoys playing golf with friends, surfing and music.  In my free time, I like cooking, trying new restaurants, and reading.  Travel is one of our passions and we have been fortunate to visit several different countries.  We have also been involved in many community events (American Diabetes Assoc. walks, Big Sisters program and local Farmers Market volunteering).

We both work in sales which has provided us with job stability, excellent medical benefits, a comfortable quality of life and a flexible schedule.  We realize the importance of investing and saving wisely to provide for a child’s future and education.

Kent is tall at 6 foot 3 inches tall, with brown hair, olive complexion and hazel eyes.  He stays active and is preparing for a 2 mile open ocean swim this year.  I am 5 feet 8 inches tall, with blond hair (or sometimes brown -- I like to change it up) and brown eyes and enjoy walking and yoga to stay healthy.  We are both spiritual people and believe in Christian values.

By far the most important thing to us is family. We are looking forward to providing a child with a life of love, affection and a home filled with laughter and joy making for the best childhood experience one could hope for. Please contact our adoption attorney and he'll be glad to help you.
