Whether you are planning to adopt on your own or with your spouse, you probably have a lot of questions about what all will be involved with the process. At the Law Office of David Radis, we will be able to walk you through the process from start to finish, making sure that all of your questions and concerns are addressed along the way.

Our office specializes in the following types of adoption:

Independent

This is when a birth mother selects adoptive parents who she may already know. This could be a situation where an aunt, uncle, or older brother or sister choose to adopt the baby.

Agency Identified

This is when a birth mother chooses to work through a licensed adoption agency and the adoptive parents are either known or chosen by the mother herself.

Traditional Agency

This is when the birth mother relinquishes her rights to a licensed agency and has no knowledge of who the adoptive parents will be following the birth of the child.

We realize that this can be confusing trying to figure out what kind of adoption you are pursuing. Rest assured, however, knowing that when you work with our office, you will be working with David Radis directly. He believes that an adoption professional should be accessible to both birth parents and adoptive parents around the clock - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will be provided with Mr. Radis' cell phone number so that you can contact him directly with any questions you may have during the day, in the evening, on the weekends, etc. He is the one who will personally handle your files in the office.

Types of Adoption

There are several different types of adoption that you can choose from to grow your family, including: open, closed, and semi-closed. With an open adoption, there will be "open" communication between you and the birth parents. You will be able to share pictures, videos, e-mails, and so on to show the child getting older, having birthdays, etc.

With a closed adoption, information will not be shared between you and the birth mother. Instead, it will all take place on or off hospital grounds following the birth of the child. The birth mother will not be given any of your contact information.

With a semi-closed adoption, limited information will be shared between the two parties. Last names and addresses, for example, will not be shared.

Our team of professionals will help you to choose which style will be best for your family's needs and your unique adoption plan.
