Ben and Cornelia

Ben and Cornelia

Welcome to our webpage! My name is Cornelia, and my husband is Ben. We hope this profile gives you a sense of who we are, what we believe and value, and why we want to adopt a child.

Our Past

Ben and I grew up in Northern California and met one day in high school on the badminton court at Ben’s school gym. We became close friends thereafter and starting dating in college. We have been together ever since. Last year, we celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary by returning to the same resort in Hawaii where we went on our honeymoon.

Raised by immigrant parents who came from Hong Kong and South Korea to further their education, Ben and I learned the value of education and family at a young age. Our parents provided us and our siblings with the opportunity to attend good schools, to learn to play musical instruments and sports, and to take trips abroad to Asia, Europe, and other parts of the world. We also went to church together with our families and spent a lot of time with our relatives.

Our Present

We have lived in California our whole lives and now own a home on a quiet street in a family-friendly neighborhood where everyone knows one another, their families, and even their pets. Ben and I have an indoor cat named Jay who ended up on Ben’s apartment doorstep as a kitten 15 years ago, and we together adopted a dog named Cole three years ago.

I spend my days as a civil rights lawyer fighting for the rights of workers and the underrepresented, and Ben spends his as an IT consultant troubleshooting and resolving computer problems. In my free time, I like to bake desserts, read, and catch up over coffee with friends. Ben likes to BBQ, golf, and talk fantasy sports with his buddies. We like to travel together, ski and snowboard, visit the beach, and spend time with our friends and family. Our dog Cole is a small, happy-go-lucky mutt who loves to go with us on road trips and leaves nose marks on the passenger window every time.

Our Future

Ben and I would like to share everything we have learned and all that we have with a child. We believe that above all things, children need to feel loved by their parents. We are fortunate to be in a position in our lives where we can provide a loving home and all that a child could want and need.

Thank you for considering us! If you think we might be a good fit, please do not hesitate to contact David Radis.
