Kerry and Joel

Kerry and Joel

Hello, our names are Joel and Kerry. We met almost exactly ten years ago and have been crazy about each other since. On our first date, we found ourselves talking about the future, and the idea of adoption came up. We were both so excited by the idea, and even though it was very early to be having such a serious conversation, something about it felt very right.

Two years ago, with the help of David Radis, we adopted our daughter, Marlowe. Becoming parents has been an incredible thing, we are so happy that we found each other. We are once again ready to expand our family, and we can’t wait to see who will arrive and complete our foursome. All three of us have so much love to give. Joel and I both have siblings that we are very close to, so we think giving children the opportunity to form that kind of special relationship will be an amazing thing.

I am Kerry. I am 39 years old, with blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. I am originally from a big, Irish family in Boston. I work as a relationship counselor, and I am lucky enough to work from home. This allowed me to be home with Marlowe from day one, something I am looking forward to doing again with our new baby. The time I’ve had with her has been so important to me. I feel very lucky to be able to have had the experience of watching her grow everyday. I am so incredibly excited to become a mom again. I feel like it is a really great time to bring a new baby into our lives.

Joel is 36 years old, with blue eyes and brown hair. He is originally from Northern California and he went to college in Santa Barbara. He is a successful television writer who has worked very hard to accomplish all he has. He is fortunate to absolutely LOVE what he does for a living, which means that outside of work, he is a pretty happy, grateful, easy going guy. He is also wickedly smart and funny, which makes him a lot of fun to be around. I fell in love with Joel for many reasons, but knowing what a wonderful father he would be someday was definitely one of them. He coached sports at a YMCA all through College. Children love him. Maybe it's his deep voice and tall stature, but they gravitate towards him. He is a patient, kind and playful father. Marlowe adores him. He often works from home and she loves to burst into his office after nap and scream “Daddy!”. They have such a special bond, it makes me so happy to watch them together.

I have always known that I wanted to be a mother. I grew up babysitting and I was a Nanny for six years when I first moved to Los Angeles. I am surrounded by amazing friends who are terrific moms, and we all support each other and enjoy getting our kids together to play. I love that our community is filled with so many fantastic children and parents. I already know that our children will have wonderful friends to grow up with. I am somebody who feels things deeply. My greatest successes are the relationships I keep. I had thirteen bridesmaids in my wedding, and some of those girls I've known since Kindergarten. I am loyal and dedicated and when I love, I love with all my heart.

Joel and I wake up laughing most days and we treat each other with kindness, always. We live in a diverse, friendly neighborhood on the outskirts of Los Angeles, with lots of parks and wonderful schools in the area. Last year we bought our first home, a four bedroom house with a big yard and lots of room to play. We are very fortunate to have a lot of family living very close by. I struck gold with Joel, but I also feel that way about my mother in-law. We are truly great friends. She is interesting and loving and she raised two of the best people I know, Joel and his sister, Jennie (who also lives close by). My brother is right around the corner too - family gatherings happen often and are usually held at our house.

We promise that if you select us, we will treat your decision with the utmost respect. We want to welcome you with understanding and the best of help to ensure this child is raised living a wonderful life. We will make sure he/she is loved, safe, encouraged, hugged, kissed, cherished and valued beyond compare.

Thank you for reading and don’t hesitate to reach out,

Sincerely,
Kerry
